Multi Purpose Taxi Program

The Multi Purpose Taxi program provides half price discounts on Taxi fares up to $60 per trip for people who have permanent and severe disability that prevents them from independently accessing public transport.  Application forms must be completed by your doctor online.

Department of Veteran Affairs

Veterans Affairs Gold Card and White Card holders may be eligible for assistance towards travel expenses for treatment of some medical conditions. To discuss eligibility contact Department of Veterans Affairs on 1800 555 254 or visit PTV

Centrelink Mobility Allowance

To qualify for a Mobility Allowance a person must travel to and from their home in connection with work, training and job search activities. For more information contact Centrelink on 13 27 17.

Vision Impaired Travel Pass

The Vision Impaired Travel Pass is issued to people who are legally blind and entitles users to free travel on Victoria’s public transport network without having to touch on and off on the myki system, card holders simply show their pass to public transport staff upon request.

Companion Card

The Companion Card is issued to eligible people with a significant, permanent disability, who can demonstrate that they are unable to participate at most community activities and venues without lifelong attendant care support. Participating entertainment, leisure and recreation venues/activities will issue the cardholder with a second ticket for their companion at no charge. A cardholder can have their companion travel at no cost and may use their card on all Australian public transport.

Victorian Patient Transport Assistance Scheme

This scheme subsidises the travel and accommodation costs incurred by rural Victorians and an approved escort, who have no option but to travel a long distance to receive approved medical specialist services. Carers Card

The Carer Card Program is a collaboration between the government, businesses and the community, the Carer Card Program gives recognition, understanding and support to Victorian carers.  The program has a wide range of discounts and benefits on offer from businesses, the local government and community organisations.

Cardholders are also entitled to free travel on public transport on a Sunday plus two return off-peak travel vouchers each year.  To find a business or type of offer you can browse the categories by rolling over the headlines then click through to the on-line directory.
