myki is the smart card ticketing system operating in metropolitan Melbourne and some regional town bus services across Victoria. myki is a durable and re-usable smart card that stores value to pay your public transport fare.
myki is an integrated ticketing system that allows you to travel on trains, trams and buses and will begin operating on V/Line interurban services during 2013.
You can buy and top up a myki from:
- Close to 800 retail outlets, including 7-Eleven stores
- The ticket window at staffed Metropolitan train stations
- Myki machines at all Metro train stations and selected accessible tram stops and bus interchanges (buy full fare tickets only)
- Online at PTV
- By calling 1800 800 007

myki ticketing system is currently not used in North East Victoria, and Regional stations are not fitted with myki machines.
Regional, interstate and overseas visitors can now purchase the myki visitor pack, for travel on Melbourne’s train, tram and buses throughout their stay.
The myki visitor pack includes:
- A myki smartcard pre-loaded with enough value for one day’s Zone 1 travel
- Instructions on how to use myki

The myki visitor pack is available for full fare, concession, child and senior visitors. The myki visitor pack is now available from the PTV Hub at Southern Cross Station (near entrance at Collins and Spencer streets), the Melbourne Visitor Centre at Federation Square and Sky Bus terminals at Melbourne Airport and Southern Cross Station and some regional Visitor Information Centres

Travelling to Melbourne on V/line
If travelling to Melbourne via public transport, travellers can continue to use their V/Line ticket as they normally would, for free travel around the city in Zone 1 and 2 until the myki card has been introduced for regional users. Some conditions apply. Please contact V/Line or call 1800 800 007
